I have purchased a few things from here since the new owners took over and each time the meat has been horrible. Steak has been tough like rubber, whole chicken also tough and had feathers, pork belly had hidden bone and nipples, was the worst pork belly ive ever had, cooked the same as we always do. Meat is way overpriced for what it is. The have also lost most of their previously friendly staff.
I have been to Saville so many times and the meat has been delicious could not fault it. Had the misfortune to go there last Saturday and totally different. The young girls serving looked totally dumbfounded when I asked for BBQ steak. The young butcher came out and said he could cut me some, great $52 and it was as tasteless and as tough as a gum boot. So I guess I won't be going back there.
I'm not impressed. I've had 2 bad experiences with staff. Pushy and unhelpful and not knowledgeable. Maybe I've chosen the wrong day to visit but I won't go back I'm sorry.
I got some ribeye steaks, rack of goat and Tbones. Beautiful meat was so tender and juicy. Very friendly staff, highly recommend coming to this butchers shop
